BOLIVIA...once
part of the ancient Inca Empire, has the highest capital city (La
Paz), the highest navigable lake (Lake Titicaca), and the highest
commercial airport in the world. The official language is Spanish
and the main religion is Roman Catholic.
WGM's MINISTRY
in Bolivia.
Most of World Gospel Mission’s work is carried out in the humid
eastern lowlands near the city of Santa Cruz, one of the fastest
growing cities in all of South America. The newest endeavor is
among the highland people in the southern part of the country. This
effort is centered in the town of Tupiza. Two airplanes in the
“Wings of Peace” ministry, both Cessna 206s, enable missionaries to
carry on rural church planting and medical ministries. Berea Bible
Seminary offers training in ministry activities and at Bolivian
Evangelical University further studies can be pursued to receive
Bachelors degrees. Berea Christian High School and the Santa Cruz
Christian Learning Center (one of the most prestigious schools for
missionary kids) are reaching out to many young people. The
National Church has over 75 pastors. In Cochabamba, WGM is involved
in church planting, leadership training, Bible studies, and
evangelism. We have seen tremendous growth in this area.
