Dear Mom
and Dad,
Greetings
from Ukraine. We have just had a very full day of it. The
sun starts the day at around 4 am. Plus there are the many
roosters that do their one duty in life very well. The roosters
really make you reconsider the story of Peter and his denial.
Which three roosters did he hear?
Anyway...We
had breakfast at seven and were out of here by eight. We worked at
the Center until about 12:15, pulling nails out of and scraping paint
off of the floor in two rooms. So the floor is ready to be
painted, which may be tomorrow's job.
After
lunch (and showers--cleanliness is, after all, next to godliness) we
went back to the Center. Anastasia, Cydil, and Heather went
to Jo's advanced English class. We had some interesting
discussions, and they loved our pictures. At the end of class
Anastasia, through directed discussion from class, was able to present
the gospel to some girls. Meanwhile, in the other discussion
group, Andre, one of the better students, made the comment that he was
in "deep do-do." After laughing hysterically, we taught
Andre some more idioms, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Joanna and
Jennifer went to the Youth Center. They mixed and mingled with the
youth, playing ping-pong, air hockey, and some board games. They
had an enjoyable time.
We all
caught a bus back at about 6:45. We finally found one that could
squeeze six people, but it was pretty tight. At one point, half a
dozen people got off the bus, but no more room, oddly, was created.
So, I'm
not sure what the agenda is for tonight, and I think a picture is
supposed to go with this. But...people are getting anxious, for
some reason, to email their parents, so I'd better quit.
Love,
Anastasia,
Jennifer,
Joanna,
Cydil,
Heather :)
